
Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon (born on March 22 1976) is an American actress. Her many accolades include an Academy Award, British Academy Film Award and Primetime Emmy Award. She was also awarded two Golden Globe Awards. Time magazine and Forbes both have named her among the 100 most influential individuals around the globe in the years of 2015 and 2006 respectively. Forbes named her the world ?Ts highest-earning actor in 2021. Her estimated income of $400 million. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, she appeared as an actress who played a supporting role in Cruel Intentions and also in the role of Tracy Flick in Election. Her fame grew with portraying Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel in 2003, and for starring in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). Her work was critically acclaimed, and she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as June Carter Cash, in the musical biopic Walk the Line. Following a slump in her career that included Water for Elephants (2011) was her only box office success, Witherspoon decided to make an comeback to the industry and produce and play Cheryl Strayed, the drama Wild (2014). The film led to her getting a second Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
