Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his family and the benefits of community service. The first family is his youngest of nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. The family lived on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two football. He is among three brothers who played for Oklahoma. All three became All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the United States. In the three years that Roy played as a player, Oklahoma won two National Championships. Selmon was a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received an award for his third year in the year 1975. Selmon received a diploma as an educator. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week while he attended college. Following college, he relocated to Tampa and played for nine years with Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro 3 times. Then he started his professional career. In 1988, while working as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of ten outstanding young people across the nation. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs when he played college football. In 1975, he was on the team. group. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as an Associate Director of Sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame by The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, as well as in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
